PART 1: TERMS OF SERVICE (TOS)
1. Service Presentation
Sympozo is a platform for creating and participating in real-time audio discussion spaces (Rooms).
2. Access and Registration
- Minimum Age: Access to the service is strictly restricted to individuals aged 18 or over. By registering, you certify that you have reached the legal age of majority.
- Accounts: Access as a spectator does not require account creation. However, to speak (Speaker) or create a Room, creating a user account is mandatory.
- Credentials: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials.
3. Advertising
The platform may display advertising spaces or banners. These advertisements may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to measure campaign effectiveness and provide personalized content. By using the service, you acknowledge that such content may be displayed.
4. Code of Conduct and Moderation
Respect is the foundation of Sympozo. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment, threats, or intimidation of other users.
- Broadcasting copyrighted content without authorization.
- Intentional noise interference aimed at disrupting a debate.
Sanctions: In the event of non-compliance, the Publisher reserves the right to:
- Expel the user from a Room.
- Temporarily suspend the account.
- Permanently ban the user and delete their account without notice.
5. Audio Rights and Ownership
- Broadcast authorization: By speaking on the platform, you expressly grant Sympozo a free authorization to broadcast your audio stream in real-time to other users.
- Recording: To date, audio streams are not recorded by the platform.
- License: You remain the owner of your original remarks. However, you grant the Publisher a worldwide, non-exclusive technical license to enable the broadcast of this content on the service.
6. Liability
The Publisher acts as a hosting provider for audio content created by users. Consequently, the Publisher cannot be held liable for remarks made live by users. Liability can only be incurred if the Publisher fails to act promptly to remove manifestly illegal content after being duly notified via the Contact page.
PART 2: PRIVACY POLICY (GDPR)
1. Data Collected
- Registered Users: Email, username, hashed password, IP address, browser, display preferences (dark mode, language).
- Anonymous Visitors: A unique technical identifier stored via cookie for spectator session management.
- Advertising: Third-party advertisers may use cookies to collect information regarding your interaction with their ads.
- Technical Data: Your IP address is collected for security purposes (combating spam and harassment).
- Site Security: We use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent automated access (bots). This tool analyzes browsing behavior in a strictly limited manner for security purposes, in accordance with our legitimate interest.
- Analytics : We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure site traffic. This service allows us to analyze browsing statistics (page views, device types) without using cookies or individual tracking. This data is collected for purely statistical purposes, based on our legitimate interest in improving our service.
- Transactional Emails: We use Mailjet to deliver our transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset). Mailjet temporarily processes the email addresses necessary for message delivery. In accordance with our data minimization policy, this information is automatically deleted from Mailjet's database following the effective sending of the message.
2. Use and Storage
Data is used for account management and service security. It is hosted by our provider OVHcloud within the European Union. The audio stream transits through our self-hosted LiveKit instance without permanent recording.
3. Your Rights
You have the right to access, rectify, and delete your data. You may manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings or our consent banner. To exercise your other data rights, use the form on the My Account page.
4. Technical Monitoring and Security
To ensure the stability and performance of our service, we use Sentry. This tool allows us to detect and fix technical errors encountered by users in real-time.
- Processed Data: Only purely technical data related to application performance (error types, browser versions) is collected.
- No Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Sentry is configured to strictly prohibit the collection of any personally identifiable information, such as full IP addresses, email addresses, or real user IDs. No data that could identify you is transmitted to Sentry.
- Legal Basis: This processing is based on our legitimate interest to maintain a functional and secure service for all our users.
